Terms of Service

mtgmatic is a web application for building, pricing, and playtesting Commander decks for Magic: The Gathering. You can search cards, build and import decklists, track a collection, check legality, and play games against an AI opponent using a real rules engine.

mtgmatic is an independent, unofficial project. It is not produced, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Wizards of the Coast — see Intellectual property below.

You need an account to build and save decks, track a collection, or play games. You can register with an email and password, or sign in with Google or Discord.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.

You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

Use mtgmatic the way it's built to be used: to build and play your own decks. Don't scrape or bulk-extract data from the site, attempt to bypass rate limits or authentication, try to break or exploit the rules engine, resell or share access to a paid plan, or upload content that's illegal, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.

We can remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.

mtgmatic offers a free plan and two paid plans (BYOK and Premium), billed monthly through Stripe. Current prices and features are on the Pricing page.

You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. We don't provide prorated refunds for partial periods.

Stripe processes your payment directly — mtgmatic never receives or stores your card number.

The AI playtest feature is in beta. It currently supports a specific pool of cards and a small number of curated decks — not every card or every deck you can build. Trying to play an unsupported deck tells you which cards aren't supported yet rather than starting a game with them anyway.

The supported card pool changes over time — usually growing, occasionally shrinking if a card turns out to be implemented incorrectly. The changelog shows the current state.

Beta features may change, break, or be temporarily unavailable without notice. The deck builder, collection tracker, pricing, and legality checker are not beta — those are the stable core of the product.

Card data and card images displayed on mtgmatic are provided by Scryfall (scryfall.com) via its public API.

You keep the rights to any decklist or collection data you create; we keep the rights to the mtgmatic software and design.

mtgmatic is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that card prices, legality checks, or the rules engine are error-free — always double-check anything that matters, like a tournament decklist, against an authoritative source.

To the fullest extent the law allows, mtgmatic and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

We may update these terms as the product changes. A material change comes with a new "last updated" date above. Continuing to use mtgmatic after a change means you accept the update.
